Jophos Book is a company that produces books and plans to establish a healthy profit by making the books affordable; increasing sales by developing marketing plans and effective strategies; to provide our customers with a convenient, high quality and secure online shopping experience.
Our world today is filled with knowledge, education, and learning opportunities. Therefore, the demand for books on various topics has increased significantly over the past few decades. However, despite the high demand for books, few businesses sell used books at affordable prices. With the rising popularity of e-readers, digital books, and other digital reading platforms, the demand for printed books is also reducing.
However, there is still a strong demand for printed book merchandise among avid readers. These opportunities became our business drive at Jophos Books. Although there are different ways to do a book merchandising business, we considered opening up a warehouse one of the best ways to do so. We sell new and old books as well as other media, such as CDs and DVDs.
Prospects
The book industry is a big business in Nigeria. The country has been ranked among the top ten global book markets. In 2016, Nigerian consumers spent over $1 billion on books and related products, making the country home to one of the largest reading communities in Africa. This lucrative opportunity inspires us to do more in the coming years. We have developed a plan to be the first book merchandise and e-commerce store in Nigeria and we are going to use the right balance of technology, marketing skills and knowledge of product information to handle all the operations of this business.

Our mission is to establish a one-stop solution for authors, publishers and buyers who want to sell their work through a book merchandising business. The vision is to create an exceptional experience for the readers by providing products that are unique and add value to their reading experience, thereby helping them understand how to use information technology better in nurturing the intellectual and educational growth of emerging adults.

- To be the first book store in Africa to bring a beautifully designed, high-tech and eco-friendly environment to the public.
- To provide a suitable environment for students, teachers or anyone who wants to purchase a new book.
- To provide a platform where authors and publishers can showcase their books to prospective buyers.
Our Management Team
Our mission is to ensure that our clients are satisfied with our services and products. We also strive to provide high-quality services competitively priced in order to sustain and grow our business. We intend to achieve this objective through the creation of an effective management team that can identify and implement the necessary strategies and tactics to promote sales and increase profits.
Jophos book is run as a family business which makes it quite easy for members of our management team to communicate with each other in order to ensure that the company’s objectives are met well. The team include Mr Joseph Barth, the business owner who oversees the day-to-day running of the business, and his wife Victoria Barth assists him and acts as the company’s bookkeeper. David, their first son, a graduate of business administration, acts as the Business Manager. In contrast, Grace, their daughter, a graduate of Library science, helps with storage and leasing operations for the store’s inventory.
Jude, their second and final son, writes literature on the side. His background as a literary artist and internship with a nearby library enables him to assist in managing the bookstore’s day-to-day operations effectively. He is also in charge of hiring and training staff and planning events like the Author of the Month and Book Signings where specific authors will be showcased. Additionally, we have three of our sales personnel as part of the team.
