Fegeostom cassava processing services is located in Ohovbe Community of Ikpoba Okha local government Area of Edo State, Benin City. Cassava as one of the cash and food crop in Nigeria can be processed into other products such as garri, starch, flour and Santana.
However, the quality of these products in the market (mainly garri and Santana) are influenced by the regions they are processed. When poorly processed, one of them – either Garri or Santana will have a sour taste or bad odour. These observations are as a result of poor and unhygienic methods of cassava processing.
Cassava processing in Nigeria is done traditionally where it is peeled and soaked for days while being exposed to the atmosphere for full fermentation. This step is critical because if there isn’t enough water in the soaking process, the final outcome may be irreversibly poor. At Fegeostom, we take advantage of technological advancement at our disposal to process and produce quality consumption-ready products in a hygienic environment.
One of the criteria for siting an industry in a location is the nearness and abundance of raw materials. Our location is characterized by medium to large areas of land mainly occupied by cassava farms because it is the major crop produced and harvested in the Local Government Area.
An added advantage is that the state has a lot of cassava farms widely distributed in its other rural communities. With these resources, we can never run out of supply of cassava and the local farmers will be encouraged to produce more.
We always get positive feedback when customers consume our products. They are relatively cheap, better-tasting, appealing, affordable and this has been our marketing strategy. We are also available on social media where we engage more with our customers to serve them better and market our products. You can get us @Fegeostom cassava plant on Facebook, twitter and Instagram.

Why you should patronize our products
We are a team of innovative individuals who have exceeded the boundaries of food processing with science and technology. We utilize our knowledge of biotechnology and microbiology to ensure faster fermentation and detoxification of the crop so that it retains only its important nutrient and none of its toxic compounds. We also ensure that our products have longer shelf life than what is being processed locally.
Location
Our location has an abundance of cassava and available land to set up an industry which is easily accessible from the main road. Residents in this area process their cassava locally with their source of water coming from wells and sometimes borehole. This is an advantage to us because there are no other industries sited in the community and we can easily dig a borehole, buy their product from them to reduce competition and also teach them more efficient ways of cassava farming to ensure the good health of society.
